Weekend Rally to Chiang Dao -
Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November 2011

Over 20 Classic Cars gathered in the morning at Nim City Daily for the start of our Weekend Rally to Chiang Dao.

After a breakfast at Bistro1, 15 cars, with a total of 25 people, departed in convoy for our rally through the beautiful countryside of Mae Rim, Mae Tang and Chiang Dao, organised by Paul (Lotus & Jaguar).

Our first stop was The Nest 2, where a specially designed lunch menu awaited us. After lunch, most of the group proceeded in convoy to The Nest 1, our venue for dinner and overnight.

After an afternoon at leisure, or indulging in the special Thai and Herbal massage treatments available at the resort, members gathered around the camp fires for pre-dinner drinks, before sampling the gourmet western food on offer in the restaurant.

It was back to the camp fires after dinner, for tales of classic cars, and the odd scary ghost story, before the last members staggered to their chalets around midnight, for a peaceful sleep amidst the sounds and creatures of the forest.

Breakfasts were enjoyed at the resort, and on the return run to Chiang Mai some members stopped off to explore the Chiang Dao caves.

We were especially pleased to be joined on this weekend by two members of the classic car fraternity in Bangkok, one of whom had shipped his classic car, a wonderfully restored Cheverolet Corvette Stingray Coupe C3, to join us and turn more than a few northern heads on this weekend outing.

This weekend trip proved so popular, we may consider making it an annual event!
