Sunday Luncheon Run : "The Other Side of the Tracks"
Sunday 28th January

We had a fabulous day out on Sunday 28th January, on our "Other Side of the Tracks" run to the beautiful Suksatan Resort in the outskirts of Lamphun. Close to 30 persons turned up at our meeting point, Origin Swiss Cafe, to enjoy coffee, tea & for many, a delicious late breakfast, whilst enjoying the opportunity to network with a group of like minded friends & enthusiasts. Event organiser Rex B eventually called the group to order & stentoriously gave a pre-departure briefing on the scenic railway track route to be taken by our convoy to Lamphun & starters orders were given to set off.

As if often the case here, our group quickly got fragmented in the traffic, with a small few trusting their GPS more than the instructions provided, therefore missing out on the more unusual routing planned. Regardless, everyone managed to arrive at our destination, Suksatan Resort, where a dedicated area had been reserved for our parking.

An eclectic assortment of tables & seating had been set up in the shade of large trees & colourful umbrellas, with a lovely outlook over the landscaped gardens. Seats found & drink orders were taken, followed soon after by dish after dish of our family style set menu. Both varied & delicious it was too - congratulations to the cook & the serving staff did an excellent job in keeping the dishes coming & the drinks flowing. Deserts eaten, our group dwindled off, to return to Chiang Mai at their own pace.

Suksatan Resort is very much a family affair & the whole family must have been involved directly or indirectly to look after us so well. Our thanks must also go to organiser Rex B for putting together such a lovely day.
