Sunday Lunch Run - 31st January 2016

Around 10 classic cars and their owners & families congregated from 10am at Buddy’s Terrace Bistro, NIM City Daily the morning of Sunday 31st January, for classic car networking & socialising. Rex B called everyone to attention & event organiser Marc D gave everyone a pre-departure briefing on the route & assembly points along the way, should our convoy get fragmented. Unfortunately, a few members couldn’t join in the lunch run, but this was compensated by other members who joined us at the restaurant for lunch.

Our group departed in convoy for our 45 minute drive out into the wilds of Doi Saket & ultimately to the well-hidden G & M German Sausage & Restaurant. We were amazed at the popularity of the restaurant & even as early as 12:15pm, the car park & restaurant was already packed! Our booked tables awaited us at the rear of the restaurant, which we quickly consolidated into one. Sunday lunch at G & M is buffet day, where the range of delicious quality G & M produce is available as a buffet, whilst other dishes like delicious German crispy pork knuckle is served at the table. To cleanse the palate, fresh fruit & ice cream is available for desert. All of this for the modest price of Baht 220 per person, plus beverages. We all achieved our annual sausage & cholesterol allowance in a single lunch!

Our lunch gathering broke up at around 2:30pm, with cars departing at their leisure – many still in convoy, attempting to find their way out of the twisty back roads, onto the main road!

We would like to thank organiser Marc D for a lovely & thoroughly enjoyable day.
